Paul Snowden: Untamed Ready for $400-K Win on Saturday’s Champagne
TAREN POINT, New South Wales – Paul Snowden spoke about the present status of Untamed, just a few days before the Champagne Stakes. The racehorse trainer cited that the two-year-old colt did not need plenty of attention because he is in perfect condition. Snowden confirmed that Untamed is all set to compete this Saturday.
The Champagne Stakes happens on April 18 at the Royal Randwick Racecourse in Sydney. This competition for two-year-old racehorses features a race distance of 1,600 metres, as per the information posted on Australian horse racing tips and news website JustHorseRacing.com.au. The winner of the Champagne Stakes will take home $400,000 worth of prize money.
Nash Rawiller will be the jockey who will ride Untamed on the weekend sporting event. Furthermore, for the two-year-old feature horse race, the bay-coloured son of She’s a Wildcat and Pierro is $11, according to the news by Australian horse racing portal Racenet.
Untamed is on a one-week back-up. This event comes following his excellent performance during his initial try at 1,600 metres in the Listed Fernhill Mile last weekend. Also, when the colt overran Fayerra and Wheelhouse on the second day of The Championships, he added some significant black type to his credentials.
Snowden remarked that the performance of Untamed last week was impressive and got the trip worry-free. The racehorse trainer said that the sporting horse had come through a different path to their other high-performing racehorses as Aim and King’s Legacy. The latter had met a classier horse in Untamed, Snowden added.
In the last day of the Sydney Autumn Carnival, Snowden and his father Peter will take part with three promising chances in the Champagne Stakes: Untamed, Aim, and King’s Legacy. The Snowdens have made a name for themselves in Australia as among the most excellent two-year-old racehorse trainers. Besides, in their trophy cabinet this year, these owners of Snowden Racing had already bagged one of the juvenile feature horse races of Sydney.
The father-and-son partnership has never been victorious in the Champagne Stakes as a training collaboration. Nonetheless, while in charge of the Darley operation, the elder Snowden triumphed in the competition thrice. Peter won the Champagne Stakes with racehorses Skilled in 2010, Helmet in 2011, and Guelph in 2013.
