NEW SOUTH WALES, Australia — The rest of the Sydney Autumn Racing Carnival’s schedule had to get modified following yesterday’s postponement of the Longines Golden Slipper Day 2021 tilt. The big-horse races will take place seven days later than originally scheduled.
According to the update posted online by the Golden Slipper tilt’s organiser, the Australian Turf Club (ATC), the following are the Sydney Autumn Racing Carnival’s revised big-horse race dates:
A) Saturday, March 27, 2021: Longines Golden Slipper Day 2021
This horse racing event of the Sydney Autumn Racing Carnival will take place at the Rosehill Gardens Racecourse. It features five Group One competitions. They are the Rosehill Guineas, the Golden Slipper, The Galaxy, the George Ryder Stakes, and the Ranvet Stakes.
B) Saturday, April 3, 2021: Tancred Stakes Day
This race is happening at the Rosehill Gardens Racecourse. It includes two Group One events, which are the Vinery Stud Stakes and the Tancred Stakes.
C) Saturday, April 10, 2021: Day One of The Championships
This event, which is a component of the Sydney Autumn Racing Carnival, will be at the Royal Randwick Racecourse. It comes with four Group One contests. They are the Inglis Sires, the Doncaster Mile, the TJ Smith Stakes, and the ATC Australian Derby.
D) Saturday, April 17, 2021: Day Two of The Championships
This horse racing tilt will also happen at the Royal Randwick Racecourse, similar to Day One of The Championships. It has four Group One competitions. They include the Coolmore Legacy Stakes, the Queen Elizabeth Stakes, the ATC Australian Oaks, and the Sydney Cup.
E) Saturday, April 24, 2021: All Aged Stakes Day
At the Royal Randwick Racecourse, this race features two Group One contests: the Champagne Stakes and the All Aged Stakes.
Based on the news posted online by Australian horse racing information and news portal Racenet, the Golden Slipper 2021 meeting got deferred due to heavy rains that incessantly lashed Sydney yesterday, March 20.
Organisers expected over 15,000 horse racing fans on course for Sydney’s important racing event. However, ATC and Racing New South Wales officials deemed the Rosehill Gardens Racecourse unsafe for conducting the Golden Slipper 2021 event on race day. Peter V’landys remarked that moving the whole Sydney Autumn Racing Carnival’s events to different dates was a tough and unfortunate measure.
Nonetheless, he asserted that it was the best choice after the Golden Slipper 2021 washout. The Racing New South Wales’s chief executive officer relayed that the step his group and the ATC officials had taken enables all of Sydney’s massive and important horse races to still happen this autumn.
