With Artorius, A Repeat of Sepoy’s Feat Eyed
SYDNEY, New South Wales — The team of Artorius believes that the Blue Diamond champion can mimic Sepoy’s achievement through winning next week’s forthcoming Golden Slipper 2021 tilt. According to the update posted online by Australian horse racing information and news portal Racenet, it has been a decade since Sepoy bagged success in both the Golden Slipper and Blue Diamond horse racing competitions. This week, Artorius’s group hopes that the Mornington runner would deliver a shot at history.
Artorius is preparing for Golden Slipper 2021, and he made his first public appearance since bagging his Blue Diamond victory. Luke Currie firmly believes that a robust trial tune-up has the Anthony Freedman-trained brown colt all set to fire in his bid to claim a sensational juvenile double in the Group One horse racing contest at Rosehill.
The Golden Slipper 2021 contest takes place on Saturday, March 20. This 1,200-metre sporting event will award $3.5 million to the winning team, per the information posted online by the Australian horse racing information and tips website, Just Horse Racing. Currie visited Sydney for a single ride at Randwick tests. In a 1,050-metre heat yesterday morning, March 11, he was aboard Artorius.
The jockey said that he felt Artorius garnered positive experiences from the trial at his initial look at the Sydney way of going. Additionally, Currie affirmed that the Blue Diamond winner had had a favourable preparation without too many runs.
With Artorius’s current form, the jockey remarked that he hopes the racehorse could get a good draw at the Golden Slipper 2021 next week. Currie also mentioned that Artorius was good late after he was not that fast out of the machine, and on a tight turning track, the galloper wanted to race away from them a little.
Currie was last Saturday’s Newmarket Handicap winner on Zoutori, and he said that Artorius was better once he was inside one corner. The horseman added that it takes a bit to wind the racehorse up, yet he hits the line well. Currie relayed that, overall, he is pleased with Artorius. He said that Gracie’s Lass and Flying Artie’s son had a good blow, and it should top him off nicely, fitness-wise.
With TAB.com.au, Artorius is a $7-third favourite racehorse for the Golden Slipper 2021 event. The two-year-old colt, whose prize money to date is $990,050 per Racenet details, has only two racehorses above him in the market. They are Stay Inside at $6 and Profiteer at $5.
