2020-21 NBA Betting Odds for Thursday – May 15th, 2021

Cleveland Cavaliers vs. Washington Wizards – The Wizards faced two straight defeats up against the Atlanta Hawks, contrary to the prediction that they should have had the win with relative ease. The team led 13 points to come the fourth quarter of the game, but they failed to keep up the momentum in the last three minutes, costing them the victory. The win would have secured them a coveted spot in the play-in tournament but defeating the Cavaliers is now a must to regain their chance.

The Cavaliers have employed a more defensive strategy throughout the season, beating the Boston Celtics. However, this just shows off the Celtics’ less than desirable performance more than the Cavaliers capability. Betters should expect the home team to win since the Wizards are hungry for the victory, and the Cavaliers are on holiday. Russell Westbrook should prove enough of an asset to secure the win.

Utah Jazz vs. Oklahoma City Thunder – Utah Jazz may have let the win escape their grasp for their last two games. Still, they have been thrust into battle without two of their most valuable players. Mike Conley and Donovan Mitchell are down for the count, leaving Joe Ingles and Rudy Gobert to catch up. Golden State and Portland secured the wins over Jazz, but the games themselves were a close race.

The Oklahoma City Thunder hasn’t been faring any better either, as they are currently riding on an unfortunate eight-loss streak. Utah does not necessarily need a stellar roster to be able to nab the win. Losing Luguentz Dort has been tough on Thunder as they struggle to consistently score in games. Their trend of losing their best players continues. Punters are placed in a tricky spot, but it is recommended to back Utah for a safer value.

New Orleans Pelicans vs. Golden State Warriors – The Pelicans have a massive uphill battle if they hope to join the play-in tournament. Still, a win over the Warriors might just do the trick. However, it would not be an easy feat to accomplish, considering Golden State has their prime player Steph Curry in their ranks. The Warriors might have suffered a loss to the Pelicans last week, but they more than makeup for the defeat by beating the Suns, Thunder and Jazz.

Curry has been touted for the MVP position, and he only reinforced this idea by boosting his point average to 31.8 points per game. Klay Thompson is also rumored to be making his return, and though unconfirmed, it would surely count as a morale boost for the team. On the other hand, the Pelicans will undoubtedly face a challenge without Brandon Ingram and Zion Williamson, so betters should back the Warriors without hesitation.
